This could contraindicate using lysine in older adults. To our data, the affect of lysine supplementation on hepatic and peripheral glucose metabolism when given in combination with an OGTT has not been investigated. As well as, we incorporated the application of stable isotope tracer methodology coupled with an OGTT that allowed us to determine the location of action (hepatic and/or peripheral) that was influenced by lysine supplementation.
I do know that I've not had a cold sore since taking these. That is THE ONE lysine product I use on a regular basis
